The Chitwan Jungle Safari tour is the most popular wildlife safari in Nepal. This tour offers not only opportunities to see wild animals in lush green forests but also cultural excursions, making it a unique experience for everyone. Chitwan National Park is located in the southern central part of Nepal and covers 932 square kilometers of deciduous forest, interspersed with valleys and bordered by three rivers: Narayani, Rapti, and Reu. The park's head office is situated in Kasara, which is 21 kilometers from Bharatpur. It is accessible by a 25-minute flight or a 146-kilometer drive from Kathmandu. This tour is enjoyable for people of all ages, with many participants choosing to spend 2 nights and 3 days in the park. However, if you wish to explore for a longer period, tours can be extended up to 5 days.
The variety of tours in Nepal is remarkable. Even those on leisure tours have the opportunity to experience the rich cultural heritage. The Chitwan Jungle Safari is primarily an exploration of Chitwan National Park, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. This safari showcases a wealth of biodiversity, including mammals, birds, reptiles, and aquatic animals. Notable inhabitants of the park include the one-horned rhinoceros, wild buffalo, Royal Bengal tiger, monkeys, deer, and snakes. The park is also known for its elephants, diverse bird species, and a multitude of insects.
The forest in Chitwan is of a subtropical type, ideal for nature and vegetation lovers. Visitors can find a wide variety of trees and shrubs and enjoy birdwatching, as the area is home to around 900 different species of butterflies. The park is also home to two types of crocodiles: the Gharial and the Mugger, or marsh crocodile. The crocodile conservation center in this area has received praise from both national and international organizations.
Key activities in the area include bird watching, elephant safaris, jeep safaris, Tharu cultural programs, and elephant bathing. The Chitwan Jungle Safari is likely the only UNESCO World Heritage site where visitors can encounter both wildlife and local communities. Several international documentaries have highlighted Chitwan National Park and its residents.

We spent time in Kathmandu, Bakhtapur, and Chitwan. We did quite a bit of riding in cars and vans but each time the driver had been well instructed. We stayed in three different hotels. Each had good facilities but the most magical was the older one in Bakhtapur Marg where the nighttime view was special. The fog was rather loud several times in the night. But they were friendly and they threatening in daylight. We enjoyed a wonderful day at Chandagiri Everything went smoothly from getting there to riding the cable car There were the most stunning views of the snow-capped Himalayas and riding the zipline was fun and felt safe. We had time to wander as we preferred to spend our time wandering and absorbing rather than rushing. Chitwan was different from what I expected as the jungle tour was in the afternoon heat. We gazed through leaves at a rhino. and admired crocodiles in the river. Mountain Miracle Treks organized it all well. We appreciated Bishnu’s time and knowledge the smooth running and his insistence that the hotel room be as he had booked it. For small group tours and a willing to work with the client to provide the sort of experience they want regard of age. This is the third trip we have done which Bishnu has arranged. The previous two were treks and they went smoothly too. All the best. Enjoy.
