The Mani Rimdu Festival in Nepal takes place in the Everest Region, home not only to the world's highest mountain, Mt. Everest, but also to the legendary Sherpa people. Where there is a community, there are traditions, celebrations, and festivals. For many trekkers, an Everest trek is not only an adventure but also a spiritual journey, with ancient monasteries, prayer flags, Chortens, and Buddhist traditions along the trail.

The Mani Rimdu Festival Trek is a cultural and religious version of the Everest View Trek, designed to combine spectacular Himalayan scenery with the unique traditions of the Sherpa community. Mani Rimdu is one of the most important festivals in the Khumbu region and is celebrated at Tengboche Monastery, the largest and most famous monastery in the Everest region.

Mani Rimdu is a high-altitude Himalayan Buddhist festival traditionally celebrated between October and November. The festival dates are determined by the Tibetan lunar calendar and are announced by the monastery's Lamas. The three-day celebration features Buddhist prayers, rituals, blessings, traditional music, colorful masked dances, and other religious ceremonies.

The first day is the Wang Blessing Ceremony, when devotees gather at the monastery to receive blessings. Throughout the day, the monastery comes alive with prayers, traditional music, incense, and religious rituals. The peaceful atmosphere and deep devotion of the local people create a truly memorable experience. Hundreds of trekkers also plan their Everest journeys around the festival to experience this unique cultural celebration.

The second day features the spectacular Cham Mask Dance, performed by monks wearing colorful traditional masks and costumes. The third day, known as Jinsak, concludes the festival with special prayers and a closing ceremony. People from different parts of the Khumbu region gather at Tengboche Monastery to participate in the celebrations and receive blessings.

Beyond its cultural and religious significance, the Mani Rimdu Festival Trek offers breathtaking Himalayan scenery. The festival takes place against the magnificent backdrop of Ama Dablam, while spectacular views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse can be enjoyed from Tengboche. The surrounding Pangboche Valley to the north and Namche Valley to the south add even more beauty to this remarkable Himalayan setting.

Day 01:Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel (1,365 m) 20 Minutes Drive to hotel.

Now that we have your flight schedule, our airport representative will be waiting for you at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu. We will drop you off at your Hotel in a private vehicle, and you will stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley City sightseeing tour and trek preparation (1,365 m) 5 hrs tour.

After breakfast, we begin our sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, visiting four remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Our tour includes the historically and architecturally rich Kathmandu Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the fascinating “Monkey Temple” (Swayambhunath), and the magnificent Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world.

We will also explore the local markets and experience the vibrant atmosphere of Kathmandu. After completing our sightseeing tour in the late afternoon, we return to the hotel for a brief meeting to prepare for the trek. This will be an opportunity to meet your trekking team and get acquainted with your guide and porters.

You will then have some free time to explore the lively streets of Thamel or purchase any last-minute trekking gear and essentials you may need. Overnight at your hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03:Fly to Lukla-35 minutes and trek to Phakding (2,610 m) 4 hours walk.

The 35-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla is one of the most spectacular short flights in the world. Our trek begins in Lukla, the gateway to Everest. From Lukla, the trail gradually descends toward Cheplung Village, where we can enjoy spectacular views of Mount Khumbila, a sacred mountain that has never been climbed.

After a few hours of walking from Cheplung, we reach Phakding Village, which lies in the Dudh Koshi River Valley. Here, we spend the night.

Day 04:Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) 7 hours walk.

After breakfast, we continue our trek to Namche Bazaar, following the Dudh Koshi River and crossing several suspension bridges along the way. We enter Sagarmatha National Park at Jorsale, where we stop for lunch before continuing our trek.

After a few hours of walking through pine forests and along scenic mountain trails, we gradually approach Namche Bazaar. We pass the open ground where the Saturday market is held before entering the town.

Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) is surrounded by mountains on three sides and opens toward the Dudh Koshi Valley. It is the main trading and tourism hub of the Everest region, where trekkers can find food, basic supplies, trekking gear, and other essential items. Overnight at a lodge.

Day 05:Acclimatization in Namche ( 3,440 m) walk to Everest view point(3,880 m) 4 hours walk.

Namche Bazaar is one of the most beautiful and vibrant places in the Everest region, offering plenty of opportunities to explore and experience the unique Sherpa culture.

After breakfast, you can hike to Syangboche Airstrip, located on a hill above Namche Bazaar. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of Namche and the surrounding Himalayan peaks.

A hike toward Sagarmatha National Park rewards trekkers with stunning sunrise views and spectacular vistas of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kongde, and other majestic Himalayan peaks.

Back in Namche Bazaar, you can visit the Everest Photo Gallery, explore traditional Sherpa culture, and visit Khumjung Hillary School and the local museum. After a rewarding day of exploration and acclimatization, we spend the night in Namche Bazaar.

Day 06:Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,880 m) 6 hours walk.

After breakfast, we begin our trek to Tengboche, one of the major stops on the Everest Base Camp trail. The first part of today’s trek follows a downhill path toward Phungi Thanga, taking approximately four hours.

Along the trail, you will have the opportunity to enjoy dramatic views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, and other magnificent peaks.

From Phungi Thanga, we continue with an uphill trek for another two hours before reaching Tengboche, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery. We spend the night in Tengboche.

Day 07:Mani Rimdu festival observation at Tengboche Monastery.

You will have three full days to experience the unique atmosphere and cultural significance of the Mani Rimdu Festival in Tengboche. The festival is celebrated at Tengboche Monastery, also known as Dawa Choling Gompa. Founded in 1916 by Lama Gulu, Tengboche Monastery is one of the most important and renowned monasteries in the Khumbu region.

Day 08: Mani rimdu festival observation at Tengboche Monastery.

After breakfast at the lodge, we visit Tengboche Monastery to witness the vibrant Mani Rimdu Festival celebrations. Enjoy the traditional Buddhist rituals, prayers, and cultural performances before returning to the lodge for an overnight stay.

Day 09:Mani rimdu festival observation at Tengboche Monastry .

After breakfast at the lodge, you will visit Tengboche Monastery once again to witness the final day of the Mani Rimdu Festival. Enjoy the closing rituals, traditional ceremonies, and vibrant cultural performances before returning to the lodge.

Day 10:Trek back from Tengboche to Namche Bazzar(3,440 m) 6 hours walk.

After enjoying the sunrise over the magnificent Himalayas, you will have a warm breakfast before beginning your trek. The trail from Tengboche is mostly downhill to Phungitenga, followed by a few uphill sections before reaching Sanasa. From Sanasa, the trail becomes relatively flat as you continue toward Namche Bazaar. Overnight at a lodge.

Day 11:Trek back from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,840 m) 7 hours walk.

After breakfast, we begin our trek toward Lukla, our final destination on the trail. The route mostly descends as we make our way through rocky terrain and cross the Hillary Suspension Bridge.

Today is our last day of trekking. The trail offers a beautiful walk through lush green vegetation and past traditional Sherpa settlements. As we continue toward Lukla, we can reflect on the incredible experiences and unforgettable memories we have made throughout the past few weeks.

Upon arriving in Lukla, we can relax, stretch our tired legs, and celebrate the completion of our Everest Base Camp adventure. We spend the night in Lukla.

Day 12:Morning Fly back to Kathmandu (1,365 m) 20 Minutes Drive to Hotel .

We will catch an early-morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, according to the flight schedule. After an unforgettable journey through the mountains, the scenic flight back to Kathmandu takes approximately 30–35 minutes.

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we will drive back to the hotel and have some time to relax and refresh after the trek.

In the evening, our company will host a farewell dinner to celebrate the completion of your trekking adventure. During the dinner, we will share and reflect on the experiences and memorable moments from your journey. You will also enjoy a traditional Nepali cultural program and experience the warmth and hospitality of Nepal.

Overnight stay in Kathmandu

Day 13:Final departure from Kathmandu (1,365 m) 20 Minutes drop-off to Airport.

As per your flight departure schedule, the airline requires us to be there at least 3 hours before your departure time. Therefore, we will transfer our guest to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) for the final departure.
