The Langtang–Helambu Trek is an adventurous journey through the spectacular Langtang region of Nepal, offering breathtaking views of majestic mountains such as Langtang Lirung (7,227 m), Ganesh Himal, and distant vistas of the Annapurna range. The Langtang and Helambu valleys are among the most popular trekking destinations in the region. Located northeast of Kathmandu Valley, these trails offer stunning Himalayan scenery, rich cultural experiences, and opportunities to encounter diverse wildlife.

The trek's major attractions include lush rhododendron and bamboo forests, diverse wildlife, magnificent waterfalls, traditional villages, Buddhist monasteries, and the elusive red panda. The route passes through traditional Tamang and Sherpa villages and the protected forests of Langtang National Park, providing trekkers with an opportunity to experience the region's unique culture, traditions, and natural beauty.

Our Langtang–Helambu Trek begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal, approximately 18 km northeast of the capital. From Sundarijal, the trail leads toward Chisapani, passing through Mulkharka, a predominantly Tamang settlement. Along the way, trekkers can enjoy spectacular views of the Langtang Himalayan range while walking through peaceful forests and traditional mountain communities.

We continue toward Chisapani (2,160 m), a beautiful hilltop village renowned for its panoramic mountain views and spectacular sunrises. The trail then enters Langtang National Park, where you will walk through pine, rhododendron, and bamboo forests while enjoying views of snow-capped peaks, rugged landscapes, and cascading waterfalls. The route continues through Kutumsang and Thadepati before reaching the beautiful Helambu settlement of Melamchi Gaon.

In Melamchi Gaon, you will have the opportunity to experience the traditional lifestyle of the local Sherpa and Yolmo communities and visit Buddhist monasteries where devoted monks continue their centuries-old spiritual practices. As the trek continues, the trail winds through peaceful forests and traditional Sherpa villages before reaching the heart of the Helambu region. Villages such as Tarkeghyang and Sermathang are particularly fascinating, with their ancient Buddhist monasteries, traditional houses, and distinctive mountain culture. From Sermathang, you can enjoy spectacular sunrise views over the Himalayas—a truly unforgettable experience.

Day 01:Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel (1,400m) 20 min Drive to Hotel.

As we received your flight schedule, our airport representative will be waiting on time at the (TIA) Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu for your arrival. We will drop you off at your Hotel in a private vehicle, and you will stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02:Kathmandu city tour and further tour planning (1,400m) 5 hours tour.

After breakfast, we begin our sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, visiting four remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Our tour includes the historically and architecturally rich Kathmandu Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the fascinating “Monkey Temple” (Swayambhunath), and the magnificent Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world.

We will also explore the local markets and experience the vibrant atmosphere of Kathmandu. After completing our sightseeing tour in the late afternoon, we return to the hotel for a brief trek preparation meeting. This will be an opportunity to meet your trekking team and get acquainted with your guide and porters.

You will then have some free time to explore the lively streets of Thamel or purchase any last-minute trekking gear and essentials you may need. Overnight at your hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03:Short Drive to Sundarijal and trek to Chisapani (2,215m) 6 hours walk.

Today, we take a one-hour drive to Sundarijal (1,350 m), the starting point of our trek. From Sundarijal, we trek to Chisapani (2,300 m). We begin our trek alongside a small hydroelectric plant, and the trail then enters Shivapuri National Park. The main settlement we come across is Mulkharka, which is predominantly inhabited by the Tamang people. From there, we walk along the ridge through forests of oak and rhododendron until we reach Chisapani.

Day 04:Trek from Chisapani to Kutumsang (2,470m) 7 hours walk.

After breakfast, we set out on our trek toward Kutumsang. Our journey begins with a pleasant walk through meadows and fields, where we can enjoy magnificent views of the Langtang mountain range. We then arrive at Pathi Bhanjyang and Gul Bhanjyang. From there, the trail climbs along the ridge to another pass, followed by a downhill walk that takes us to Kutumsang.

Day 05:Trek from Kutumsang to Thadepati (3,700m) 7 hours walk.

We continue above Kutumsang along a steep trail, passing mainly through fir and rhododendron forests, where there are no permanent settlements. The trek continues to Yurin Danda, offering magnificent views of the Himalayas. Finally, we arrive at Tharepati, where we spend the night.

Day 06:Trek from Thadepati to Melamchigaon (2,530m) 6 hours walk.

Today, we set out toward Tarkeghyang. During the early part of the trek, the trail descends until we cross the Melamchi Khola. From there, we trek uphill to Tarkeghyang, passing through several Sherpa settlements along the way. The magnificent Himalayan peaks often come into view, shining brightly in the sunlight. Upon arrival, explore the village and its monastery, one of the oldest and largest monasteries in the region. The village is also commonly known as Helambu, as most of its inhabitants belong to the Hyolmo community.

Day 07:Trek from Melamchigaon to Sermathang ( 2,590m) via Tarkeghyang 6 hours walk.

Since we do not gain much elevation today, the trek will be relatively easy. Along the way, we pass through beautiful forests, streams, and waterfalls. The trail follows a gentle route around the wide valley, eventually reaching Parachin and the Sherpa village of Gangyul. From Gangyul, we continue to Sermathang. Upon arrival, explore the village and visit the Buddhist monastery located at the highest point of the village.

Day 08: Trek from Sermathang to Timbu and Drive back to kathmandu ( 1,400m) 9 hours.

On the final day of our trek, we walk downhill to Melamchi Pul Bazaar. The town is predominantly inhabited by the Sherpa people, although people from various other ethnic communities also live here. From the bazaar, we take a bus back to Kathmandu.

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, the rest of the day is free for you to relax or do some souvenir shopping. In the evening, we celebrate the successful completion of our trek with a farewell dinner. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 09:Final Departure from Kathmandu(1,400m) 20 minutes Drive to (TIA) Airport.

As per your flight departure schedule, the airline requires us to be there at least 3 hours before your departure time. Therefore, we will transfer our guest to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) for the final departure.

We will serve seasonal fruits as dessert after your dinner during the trekking period.
If needed, we provide sleeping bags, down jackets, and duffle bags, which you must return after finishing the trek.
A general medical first aid kit will be provided for common medical issues (Please consult your doctor if you have chronic diseases and obtain a prescription before traveling to Nepal).
Emergency helicopter services will be arranged and covered by your travel insurance. Clients should have travel insurance, including high-altitude sickness emergencies and helicopter evacuation services.
A farewell dinner in Kathmandu at a traditional Nepali cultural restaurant after finishing the Trek.
All government taxes, VAT, and company service charges.
