Kongma La Pass (5,535m): The highest and most rugged of the three, connecting Chhukung to Lobuche across the icy moraines of the Khumbu Glacier with sweeping views of Makalu and Lhotse. Cho La Pass (5,420m): A technical and thrilling crossing linking Dzongla to Dragnag over a fading glacier, requiring microspikes and a steep scramble on loose rock. Renjo La Pass (5,388m): The final pass overlooking the stunning turquoise Gokyo Lakes on one side and a long stone-staircase descent toward Lungden on the other.

The Everest Three High Pass Trek is an adventurous and challenging journey designed especially for physically fit and experienced trekkers. It is one of the most strenuous, exciting, and rewarding trekking adventures in the Everest region, offering unforgettable memories and spectacular Himalayan scenery. Your journey begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,828 m/9,278 ft). From Lukla, the trail leads through beautiful Sherpa villages, lush green landscapes, peaceful forests, rivers, and mountain streams. The fresh mountain air and tranquil surroundings provide a refreshing start to this remarkable adventure.

On the second day, you reach Namche Bazaar (3,440 m), the largest Sherpa settlement in the Everest region. Often described as a mountain town, Namche is an important trading and cultural center and a popular destination for trekkers heading toward Mount Everest. With its colorful houses, numerous guesthouses, shops, and spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, Namche offers an exciting and welcoming atmosphere. The Everest Three High Pass Trek begins from Lukla and follows the Dudh Koshi Valley toward Namche Bazaar, the gateway to the Everest region. Namche is also a popular destination for shorter Everest View treks and for travelers who have limited time. For the Three High Pass Trek, an additional acclimatization day in Namche is highly recommended to help trekkers adjust to the increasing altitude.

The Everest Three High Pass Trek takes you through some of the most spectacular and remote landscapes in the Everest region. The trek crosses three major high mountain passes: Renjo La Pass (5,338 m), Cho La Pass (5,368 m), and Kongma La Pass (5,535 m). Along the route, you will travel through traditional Sherpa villages, remote valleys, and the dramatic landscapes of the Bhote Koshi Valley. In addition to the three high passes, the trek offers incredible opportunities to explore Gokyo Ri, the Fifth Lake, Kala Patthar, and Everest Base Camp. From Gokyo Ri, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks and turquoise Gokyo Lakes. The journey to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m) provides an opportunity to witness the spectacular Khumbu Icefall, one of the most impressive features of the Everest region.

Kala Patthar (5,550 m) is another major highlight of the trek. It is widely regarded as one of the best viewpoints in the Everest region, offering an exceptionally close and panoramic view of Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks. Although Everest Base Camp is an iconic destination, Kala Patthar provides a more expansive perspective of Everest and the Khumbu Himalayas. The Three High Pass Trek is not only about dramatic mountain landscapes. Along the way, you will experience the warm hospitality of the Sherpa people, visit traditional mountain villages, and discover a fascinating culture shaped by generations of life in the Himalayas. The region is rich in Buddhist traditions, monasteries, prayer flags, mani walls, and unique local customs.

The Everest Three High Pass Trek can be completed in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction, depending on the itinerary and trekking conditions. Regardless of the route, the journey takes you deep into the heart of the Everest region and offers an extraordinary combination of adventure, natural beauty, culture, and high-altitude exploration. Prepare yourself to experience the breathtaking scenery, thrilling mountain passes, peaceful Sherpa villages, and unforgettable moments that make the Everest Three High Pass Trek a truly remarkable Himalayan adventure.
