Jomsom Muktinath Trek is a scenic and culturally rich journey through the Mustang and Annapurna regions of Nepal. The trek offers a wonderful combination of dramatic Himalayan landscapes, traditional villages, and the spiritual heritage of both Hindu and Buddhist communities.

Along the route, trekkers can enjoy spectacular views of Annapurna South (7,219 m), Annapurna II (7,937 m), Annapurna III (7,555 m), Annapurna IV (7,525 m), Hiunchuli (6,441 m), Machhapuchhre (6,998 m), Tukuche Peak (6,920 m), Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Annapurna I (8,091 m), and Nilgiri (7,040 m). The journey also follows the beautiful Kali Gandaki Valley and passes through traditional Thakali settlements.

The trek can begin with a flight from Pokhara to Jomsom or with a drive from Pokhara toward Nayapul, depending on the selected itinerary. From Jomsom, the trail leads through charming villages and the dramatic Kali Gandaki Valley before reaching the sacred pilgrimage site of Muktinath.

Muktinath Temple is an important pilgrimage destination for both Hindus and Buddhists. The temple complex features 108 sacred water spouts and two small ponds. Pilgrims traditionally bathe in the holy water as part of their religious practices and spiritual journey. From Muktinath, the trail passes through the traditional village of Jharkot before descending to Eklebhatti and continuing along the Kali Gandaki Valley to Jomsom.

From Jomsom, travelers can either fly back to Pokhara or extend the trek through Marpha, Kalopani, Ghasa, Tatopani, Ghorepani, and Nayapul before returning to Pokhara. Spring and autumn are generally considered favorable seasons for this trek, offering pleasant conditions and Clear Mountain views.

Day 01:Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel (1,365 m) 20 min Drive to hotel.

As we received your flight schedule, our airport representative will be waiting on time at the (TIA) Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu for your arrival. We will drop you off at your Hotel in a private vehicle, and you will stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02:Kathmandu city tour and further tour planning (1,365 m) 5 hours tour.

After breakfast, we begin our sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, visiting four remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Our tour includes the historically and architecturally rich Kathmandu Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the fascinating “Monkey Temple” (Swayambhunath), and the magnificent Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world.

We will also explore the local markets and experience the vibrant atmosphere of Kathmandu. After our late-afternoon sightseeing, we return to the hotel for a brief meeting to prepare for the trek. This will be an opportunity to meet your trekking team and get acquainted with your guide and porters.

You will then have some free time to explore the lively streets of Thamel or purchase any last-minute trekking gear and essentials you may need. Overnight at your hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03:Morning Drive (210 km) to Pokhara (8,20m) 7 hours drive.

After an early breakfast at the hotel, we begin our scenic drive to Pokhara along the Trishuli and Marsyangdi Rivers. Enjoy beautiful river views along the way, with opportunities to see Ganesh Himal and Mt. Manaslu on clear days.

Pokhara is a beautiful tourist destination known for its peaceful lakes, stunning mountain views, caves, temples, and rich cultural heritage. After approximately six hours of driving, we arrive in Pokhara, the “City of Lakes,” and check into our hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 04:Drive from Pokhara to Tatopani (1,190 m) 8 hours Drive.

After breakfast, we take a bus or jeep to Tatopani, with an approximately 8-hour drive via Beni Bazaar. The journey follows the Kali Gandaki River valley, offering scenic views of Nepal’s trans-Himalayan landscape, the world’s deepest gorge, and diverse local communities.

Along the way, we experience the rich cultures of Brahmins, Chhetris, Gurungs, Thakalis, Tibetans, Sherpas, Magars, and Rais. We will stop for snacks and toilet breaks during the journey. Upon arrival in Tatopani, relax and enjoy its famous natural hot springs. Overnight in Tatopani.

Day 05:Trek from Tatopani to Ghasa ( 2,010 m) 6 hours walk.

After breakfast, we begin our trek along the Kali Gandaki River, which flows beside the trail. We cross a small stream and continue through the scenic landscape, passing the beautiful Rupse Chhahara Waterfall. The trail then climbs gradually toward Ghasa, a charming village in the lower Kali Gandaki Valley surrounded by lush greenery. Ghasa is also a popular destination for birdwatching enthusiasts. Overnight in Ghasa.

Day 06:Trek from Ghasa to Marpha ( 2,670 m) 7 hours walk.

We follow a scenic trail through the forest along the Lete Khola before reaching Lete Village. Continuing east of the river, we trek toward Larjung Village, passing beautiful apple orchards and vegetable farms along the way. We then continue to the charming village of Marpha, renowned for its delicious apples and traditional Thakali culture. Overnight in Marpha.

Day 07:Trek from Marpha to Kagbeni ( 2,800 m) 6 hours walk.

From Marpha, we follow a scenic trail through the valley, gradually ascending along the hillside before reaching Jomsom. From Jomsom, we head north toward Kagbeni, following the Kali Gandaki River through its dramatic gorge.
As the trail can become windy, especially later in the day, we maintain a steady and comfortable pace. Along the way, we pass through Eklebhatti and continue toward the historic village of Kagbeni. From here, we enjoy stunning views of Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, and Tukuche peaks. Overnight in Kagbeni.

Day 08:Trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath ( 3,760 m) 4-5 hours walk.

After a special permit check, we begin our trek along the banks of the Kali Gandaki River, heading upstream. The trail offers beautiful scenery and stunning mountain views along the way. From Kagbeni, we climb steadily toward Khingar at 3,200 meters, following a scenic trail through the arid landscape.

We continue through Jarkot Village before making a final ascent to the sacred pilgrimage site of Muktinath. Overnight in Muktinath.

Day 09:Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2,720 m) 5 hours walk.

Muktinath is a sacred pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists, reflecting Nepal’s rich blend of religious traditions. In the morning, we visit the main temple and explore the surrounding area, including the famous natural water springs and a nearby Buddhist monastery.

After exploring Muktinath, we retrace our route back to Jomsom, enjoying beautiful views of Mt. Dhaulagiri and the surrounding Himalayan landscape. Overnight in Jomsom.

Day 10:Fly Back to Pokhara from Jomsom ( 8,20 m) 15 minutes and Drive to hotel.

We take an early morning flight to Pokhara, enjoying spectacular views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges along the way. The flight through the deep Kali Gandaki Valley makes the journey a memorable experience.

After arriving in Pokhara, the beautiful “City of Lakes,” the rest of the day is free for relaxation and exploration. You can enjoy boating on Phewa Lake or take a leisurely walk around the lively Lakeside area. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 11:Drive from Pokhara to Kathamndu(1,365 m) 7 hours drive.

We take tourist transportation at 7:00 AM for the drive back to Kathmandu. The journey is scenic and enjoyable, passing through numerous towns and settlements along the way. As we travel, we can enjoy views of the rivers, terraced fields, traditional villages, and beautiful landscapes.

After approximately 8 hours of driving, we will arrive in Kathmandu.

Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 12:Final Departure from Kathmandu(1,365 m) 20 Minutes Drive to (TIA) Airport.

According to your flight departure schedule, and as the airline requires passengers to arrive at least 3 hours before departure, we will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) for your final departure.

A farewell dinner in Kathmandu at a traditional Nepali cultural restaurant after finishing the tour.

Entrance fees for monuments and temples during your city tour.
Expenses for personal items and meals while you are in urban areas like Kathmandu or Pokhara.
