TIBET: The roof of the world

Tibet is one of the must-visit destinations for there is adventure indeed lurking around almost every corner. We present here short extension itineraries that start with the world's most scenic flight over the mighty Himalayas from Kathmandu to Lhasa. Adventure on the road, is never short, on the Trans- Himalayan drive of 970 kilometers and four mountain passes, promising a panorama of culture and scenic diversity unsurpassable anywhere. All this culminates in the awesome palaces of Norbulingka (the summer: palace of the Dalai Lama) and the Potala Palace (the traditional seat of the Dalai Lama) envelop us. Ancient Barkhor Bazzar still barters the bric-a-brac in this region that's not so much a little strange as utterly surreal.

The Roof of the World is the land of the show and mystical Buddhism kingdom. It offers fabulous old monasteries, high-altitude lands, the world’s highest mountains, the most likable peoples, and Tibetan civilization. Tradition Buddhist cultures, high altitude passes draped with prayer flags and the highest lakes are beautiful and fascinating for visiting Tibet.
